I now own Dakota Business Tax LLC through which I provide South Dakota sales, use, and contractors’ excise tax consulting services to help businesses better understand South Dakota tax law. This helps me understand the other side of tax compliance and the struggles businesses have in complying with South Dakota tax law. Most audit assessments are the result of confusing and complex tax laws.
I believe legislators have an obligation to act in the best interest and support our South Dakota businesses because they are the economic cornerstones of our state and communities. It will take someone that knows our taxes to fix our taxes.
