VOTE on June 4th

Vote-June-4th

Make sure you get out and VOTE on June 4th! Polls are open Election Day – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This year you can absentee vote until 6 pm on Monday, June 3rd at the Pennington County Auditor’s office. This is because of the passing of Senate Bill 99 in which I was the prime sponsor for in the House. This bill is a perfect example of why I ran for a legislative office because this bill expands access to voting. Last year there were voters who came into the Pennington County Auditor’s office after work to vote but were turned away because SD law 12-19-2.1 only allowed absentee voting until 5 p.m. the day before the election. Senate Bill 99 still retained the requirement that an auditor’s office must remain open for absentee voting “During regular office hours up to 5:00 p.m. on the day before the election” but added “whichever is later.” If the Auditor’s office is open, you should be allowed to vote.
